Dissatisfaction and frustration with the policies of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led to massive protests across the country from June 2020 to 2021. While the protests remained mostly peaceful, they were brutally suppressed by the police. The essence of protests is not to change what happens within a single moment but to give a voice to what people feel. Protests create an echo chamber of political and social awareness. The Balfour protests had beautiful moments of joy and unity, yet, unfortunately, were often overshadowed by police violence.
