In December 2018, for the first time in Israel, thosands of women gathered together in the streets of Tel Aviv in a strike against murder and violence towards women. In response, the Prime Minister convened the Ministerial Committee and approved the transfer of 50 million ILS to solve the problem. A few weeks later, Parliament was dissolved and the funds were only partially transferred and have been blocked ever since. During the Corona lockdown, violence against women in Israel increased by 122 percent compared to previous years.
